Operation Santa 2011

by Stuart Holttum, Assistant Branch Secretary

Christmas is nearly here, and for the third year the branch will be running "Operation Santa".

On Friday 16th, suitably attired PCS Reps will be touring all the floors in Alexander House, bringing gifts for all the Good Little Members!

Members who have been in PCS (or its predecessor unions) for 25 years or more qualify for a Gold Badge, and Santa will be presenting these to all the members who aren't too shy to come and sit on his lap!

In addition, all members will be entered into a prize draw, with 6 prizes for each floor.  Members in our outlying offices will unfortunately not get to see Santa himself (something to do with EU directives on how far his reindeer can travel before the 25th), but they WILL be entered into their own prize draw, and their prizes sent out to them asap.

We start our tour of the building at around 9:30 on the 14th floor, and will work our way down - Reps will go round each floor to let you know we are here, so when you see them please make your way to the Centre area of the floor.  I expect each floor will take about 10-15 minutes, and it would help us a lot if you could get to the Centre of the floor as fast as you can once you know we are there!Don't worry if you aren't around when we get to your floor - if your name is pulled from the hat we will keep your prize safe for you.

Please note - Santa is a stickler for Admin (remember...."he's making a list, and checking it twice!") and so will only be awarding prizes to members who are currently located on the floor their name is drawn.  If you've moved floor and not let the Branch Organiser know....then very sorry, but Santa will have to give the prize to the next lucky boy or girl!

Santa will also be rattling his donations bucket for the PCS Hardship fund.....so please bring some change with you to drop in the bucket.

All the prizes for Operation Santa are funded from the money earned this summer from the Workers Beer Company operations - no PCS subscriptions were spent on Operation Santa.
