Operation Santa 2011by Stuart Holttum, Assistant Branch Secretary
On Friday 16th, Santa Claus, The Tinsel Thing, and Happy the Elf roamed the floors of Alexander House spreading joy and goodwill and dispensing presents. On the day we gave out a total of 84 raffles prizes, and presented 35 gold badges to members who had completed 25 years membership in the Union. For all those members who were too shy to come sit on Santa's knee, I will be contacting you in the next couple weeks so you can receive your badge in a less embarassing manner! |
We also collected for the PCS Hardship Fund, and I am delighted to report that we collected a total of £148.08 - many thanks to all who gave. We did draw a name or two for people who were no longer on that floor.....Santa sends his apologies but he does insist on his list being followed...he "checks it twice", you know! As branch organiser, can I please ask that you let me know if you change floor? As well as making sure you get your pressies at Christmas, it also means we can get ballot papers to you with the minimum of fuss, as well as making sure that any floor or business specific info gets to the right people at the right time - thanks in advance! All the prizes for Operation Santa were funded from the money earned this summer from the Workers Beer Company operations - no PCS subscriptions were spent on Operation Santa. |
