save HMRC from the Cuts

As reported earlier this week, the Treasury Select Committee has published a report about HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) that praised the staff but was damning of the service provided to the public.

The reason for the failings are the massive cuts being made to HMRC. As well as the public suffering a poor service, the UK is losing money hand over fist because the department has not got enough staff or resources to collect all the tax that is owed and prevent evasion and avoidance of tax by wealthy businesses and individuals.
